  • Snapshots and versioning

Easily create multiple versions of snapshot files for data protection, backup, and recovery. The incremental backups feature helps save time and bandwidth, and data recovery from snapshots only takes a few minutes.

Cloud storage gateways for hybrid cloud connectivity

Organizations can utilize HybridMount and VJBOD Cloud apps to form file-based and block-based cloud storage gateways and mount mainstream cloud storage on QuTScloud. Moving business data to the cloud becomes easy, and users can seamlessly leverage the cloud for storage, backup, and data recovery with low-latency access for an innovative hybrid cloud experience.

Create S3 compatible object storage on hypervisors

QuObjects allows organizations to operate an S3 compatible object storage environment on QuTScloud at no extra cost, helping them to attain high performance and unlimited uploading/downloading advantages for object storage development & testing. It is also an ideal on-premises storage for backing up cold data from the cloud to reduce cloud storage costs.

Expand application potential with the App Center

The App Center provides various install-on-demand apps, including tools for backup/sync, productivity, and multimedia to expand the application potential of QuTScloud. For example, Qsirch is a full-text search engine that helps find specific files quickly; Qfiling automates file organization; QuMagie provides an AI-powered photo album. QuTScloud also supports hosting containerized apps, or a proxy server for optimized network bandwidth and secured network connection. Apps can also be installed manually. The App Center will automatically update your apps to the latest versions.

Console Management – A convenient way for troubleshooting

When performing maintenance or troubleshooting, or if IT/tech support staff are unable to access QuTScloud via HTTP/S, Console Management can be used to perform basic configuration and debugging. Console Management is available using SSH or the management console of each cloud platform.

FAQ

1
How do I recover the forgotten password of my account in QuTScloud?

When you first enter the QuTScloud, the system will inform you to setup the "SMTP service" and "Forgot Password Settings" of the Options to activate the forgot password service.

After trying to log in with an incorrect password, the "Forgot password" button will appear. Click this button, follow the instructions, and QuTScloud will send a recovery email to your registered mailbox based on its SMTP settings. Click the link in the email and follow the instructions to reset your password.

2
What limitations apply when the QuTScloud license expires?

Every service of QuTScloud, excluding "License Center" and "myQNAPcloud" will be disabled when the license expires. Please note that licenses are automatically renewed by default.

3
Is my data affected when my QuTScloud license expires?

Your data will remain on the QuTScloud virtual hard drive. When you renew the license, you will be able to use your QuTScloud just like before.

4
Can QuTScloud be updated?

QuTScloud can update itself, and you can also manually update the system to the latest version.

5
What security features are provided by QuTScloud?

QTS and QuTScloud share the same security features, including: Security Counsellor, QVPN Service, snapshots, McAfee Antivirus, Malware Remover, and more.

6
How can I back up my QuTScloud? Do I need an additional license? Are snapshots available with QuTScloud?

You can back up QuTScloud using 2 different methods – and neither require additional licenses. The first method is to use snapshots or tools provided in the App Center (for example: HBS 3). Snapshots provided by QuTScloud requires free space in the storage volume. The second method is to perform a VM-level backup to back up the whole instance at once. This method is provided by your cloud platform/VPS provider or VM hypervisor.

7
What data access protocols are supported by QuTScloud?

QuTScloud supports the same protocols as QTS, including: Samba, AFS, NFS, iSCSI, and FTP. However please note that firewalls provided by your cloud platform/VPS provider may block the ports required by these protocols. Refer to the documents provided by your cloud platform/VPS provider to allow QuTScloud to receive data from the Internet.

8
Are there any resource monitoring apps available in QuTScloud?

QuTScloud features a Resource Monitor app that’s similar to the QTS-based Resource Monitor app. Some resource information is not provided due to lack of hardware (for example: virtual hard drives lack disk SMART data).
