Frequently Asked Questions

It is recommended to use QNAP NAS to QTS 5.0 / QuTS hero h5.0 (or later) to take full advantage of DA Drive Analyzer for AI-powered disk diagnostics and drive failure prediction. Several features, such as proxy server connection, requires QTS 5.1.3 / QuTS hero h5.1.3 (or later). DA Drive Analyzer requires Internet access to upload drive usage data to the ULINK AI-powered platform for analysis. If your NAS cannot connect to external networks due to security concerns, you can enable a proxy server connection from DA Drive Analyzer for hiding the NAS IP address from the Internet. Learn how to use: How to set up ULINK DA Drive Analyzer on your QNAP NAS

No, DA Drive Analyzer does not collect any data stored on your NAS. DA Drive Analyzer and the ULINK AI-powered platform only collect drive system data. DA Drive Analyzer has been built to comply with strict security and privacy regulations - including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Each drive license of DA Drive Analyzer is valid for 365 days, and the validity period starts from the date of purchase, not from the date of activation. We highly recommend that users activate their purchased licenses as soon as possible.

Yes, licenses can be installed on different QNAP NAS registered to the same QNAP ID. For example, if you buy six drive licenses, you can install three licenses on NAS A, and install the other three licenses on NAS B.

Please refer to “License Activation” in the operating system manual. You must bind your license seat to a specific NAS and drive slot. In DA Drive Analyzer, you can choose the function of automatic license binding for unlicensed drives, or you can choose to manually bind licenses to specific drives.

No. Licenses from DA Drive Analyzer are NOT transferrable.
For storage expansion units, please note that because the license is tied to the NAS where it was initially activated, if an expansion unit is connected to an unauthorized NAS, the hard drive slots of the expansion unit will become inactive.
After binding licenses on designated drive slots, users can not transfer licenses to other drive slots.

The QNAP Software Store will attempt to automatically renew your license. If license auto-renew is unsuccessful, the system will provide a 15-day grace period in which you can still use DA Drive Analyzer functions. Once the grace period ends, DA Drive Analyzer service will end until you buy another license.
